VINTAGE POSTCARDS
REAL PHOTO
Real photo postcards, including some by Hugo Brehme collected in the 1920s in Mexico, are offered here. Others are scenes of the Caribbean, the Philippine Islands and South America. The Brehme cards, on ARTURA photo paper, date to about 1925 when our great-grandfather traveled through Mexico, Hawai'i and Manila on his way to Japan in 1925. Artura paper was used between 1910 and 1924. Other cards on these pages are printed on VELOX with the diamond at the four corners of the stamp box (used from 1907-1914 or 1917) and AZO, with triangles at the four corners of the stamp box, top triangles pointing up, bottom triangles pointing downward (used from 1918-1930).
The VELOX postcards were collected by our great-grandfather when he was a Trade Commissioner for the U. S. Government and traveled throughout South America.
